Hello,

I recently developed both hyperacusis and reactive tinnitus (my tinnitus can get worse after loud sounds). Can anyone recommend any therapist/dr. who can help me deal with this please?

Look up the doctors in Harley Street, London. I’m sure they can help .

Hi yes me too about 2 years ago it’s very alarming when it happens but help is available and I assure you both will improve in time if you take care of your ears.

I have had lots of help on my journey. These are the 2 best recommendations I can give you:

For dealing with the hyperacusis and tinnitus arrange a video call with audiologist Myriam Westcott she is one of the best in the business and she put me on the right track when I started.

For dealing with the emotional aspect of Tinnitus and Hyperacusis arrange to see Dr Laurence McKenna in person ideally. He is based in London and one of the leading lights in dealing with the psychological aspect of tinnitus treatment - again he put me on the right track.

If you want to private message me please do as I found it very difficult getting reliable info & help dealing with Hyperacusis.
