Had my best sleep last night for ages after taking my first mirtazapin with one of my zopilone but woke up at 9.45 feeling knocked out still do at12 and my t sounds even worse and its a lot louder out side than it has been its obviously the mirtazapin plan was to take both for a while then come off the zopilone hoping its just a short spike from adding the miraztapin i am totally confused now just do not know what to do.

Hey john. It's so tricky to find the right balance. I would try one drug at a time if I were you. Then you'll know for sure which one is causing the spike . When I took phenergan last year it made me dozy for 24 hours. I think that's just the effects drugs have.

No. I took phenergan twice a week and it didn’t effect my T. Just very dozy the next day which was quite nice really. It was like having a day off from all the worries . If you think the mirtazapin has made T. Louder maybe take a short break - a few days - see if it goes back to normal. Just an idea. I’m no expert.

Hi John.I totally understand.

I used to have Mirtazapin to knock me out because of the tinnitus when it first started. It didn't actually make any difference with my tinnitus.

Hopefully it's just the combination of both meds and once you come off the other t will quieten.

I'm jubious when it comes to antibiotics. I'm fine with amoxicillin and penicillin but metronidazole 🙅🏼‍♀️🙅🏼‍♀️ definite no no. I woke up with my t going from a 2/3 to a 9/10 😖. I stopped them antibiotics that day and the next it had calmed again. I think it's just trial and error with these meds. I hope this helps a little.

Hey John wee side affect of the mirtazapine I found.Felt as if I had a hangover after should pass though.Hence the louder T.Zoplicon never really worked for me louder T too.Not sure about taking them both together though if your doctor prescribed them have a chat with him.Zen tinnitus, insight timer and headspace are three apps I use for relaxation with the headphones in but not right in or too loud. You have to be able to hear the tinnitus they say.Ask your doc if he can refer you for CBT help for breathing and coping techniques John. They are a big help and help change or negative behaviours and thoughts

Take care John and all the best for you and your family!

Metronidazole caused my T

Metronidazole is terrible. Stay well away from that! I was only on it a day and stopped it 🤦🏼‍♀️. It was like someone had got the volume button and whacked it right up from background T to full on rave/trance T 🤦🏼‍♀️. Thankfully it quietened again 🙏 after stopping. Still there but manageable. I can cope with mine now. It's just part of me but for people who find it hard to sleep of a night there is a pillow that can buy. Google tinnitus pillow. I've heard they are a god send 👌

mine was the same only took it once and my right hit the roof with a very loud pitch sound did not think my t could get any worse how long before yours settled down again

Hi John . I think it was 3 days for that initial loudness to change and lessen then over a week I would say it went back to my normal 2/3. I kept trying to stay calm because that makes it worse obviously, and think don't stress it's going to go back to what it was like. It's hard to not get stressed though I know.
