Hi Frinny - welcome to the British Tinnitus Association forums.

We have a lot of advice and support available from the community here, with information and news on our website - tinnitus.org.uk.

As a starting point, you might find this advice on sleep disturbance and tinnitus worth looking at - tinnitus.org.uk/tinnitus-an...

Our e-learning programme, Take on Tinnitus, is also a good source of straightforward information and support - takeontinnitus.co.uk

Thanks for joining us

Just to say, Frinny, that you are one of many many people who have this nasty little problem. We do feel for you.

I’ve had it for about ten years and deal with it by ignoring it. I have hearing aids, which helps a bit, and I’m able to concentrate on the GOOD sounds around me such as wind in the trees, birds etc.

Hi, Sorry to hear you are suffering. Like a lot of Tinnitus sufferers it can be awful at night when there are no external sounds. I use exercise in the day to tire me out to help sleep plus I use a white noise app, which I leave on all night. Not only does the app provide some external noise for my brain to focus on but I listen to sounds of waves and the beach so when I get into bed I think about peaceful fun holidays on the beach which helps take my mind off the Tinnitus and helps me go to sleep. There are lots of apps out there but the one I have found works for me is 'ReSound Relief' as you can tailor the sounds you want to listen to. Good luck and hope things improve

You definitely not alone and I feel your pain. I have also attended the free British Tinnitus Association Zoom Support groups and they have been really helpful. Especially in relation to emotional support and not knowing you are on your own suffering (plus learned helpful tips frm others, such as the ReSound app. Take care and good luck

Well, I've feared that this platform is being exploited for external interests.

Now, asking for compliance with cookies is evidence of that.

Still, years in, I've suffered 20 years of T. Now, it's been ramping up, off the charts. Nobody seems to offer true empathy, particularly the administarators. I value their diligence but simply put, this is not a game. It now is survival.

I'm a tough cookie but this is non negotiable. There must be answers. There must be a root cause that has escalated the conditions of what I would say, is an alarming number of victims.

Any thoughts?
