Hi, I'm interested to know whether anyone else has had much success with Vitamin B12. I've been taking 2000 micrograms a day for the last few years and can honestly say it reduces my problem 50% or more. (If I forget to take it, the T comes back with a vengeance - stereo jet screams, the works.) The methylcobalamin B12 variant is the one that works for me, I've also tried Vitamin B12 in cyanocobalamin form but with no effect. For the first few weeks I took a higher dose (4,000ug a day), when it started to work I dropped the dose to half that. I'll also mention that another effect of the B12 appears to be improved brain focus (not a big difference, but noticeable).
(I've read the evidence that says it's not supposed to work, but then, tinnitus doesn't make any logical sense either.)

If you have Tinnitus due to a vitamin B12 deficiency, then supplements are going to help. I would say a healthy and balanced diet may have the same effect.
I use ReSound Relief/Beltone Tinnitus that I listen to at night. Ive just started using Tinnitus Notched Tune for listening to music when I'm reading. I've got no idea if the notched therapy will work, but trying it as I would listen to music anyway.
I find both effective for there purpose. Though I do try to not rely on background noise and I do not drown it out.
It's conceivable that a relatively high-stress job without sufficient vitamin compensation helped bring on my T (although my father used to have it as well - he blamed the Hurricane he flew in the war : ) However, the B12 dosage I'm now taking is way beyond what I would get from any normal diet. (Still completely safe though, it would be very difficult to overdose on B12, but please do your own research.) One of the B12 studies I've read about used a much smaller dose and got no significant results.
Hi that’s good to read. I take a magnesium and vit B combo. That works well from my stress and anxiety (which makes tinnitus worse for me). I think supplements are useful as our food is so depleted from vits and minerals even if you eat organic. Thanks for the post 👍🏻
I take a vitamin B complex that includes B12, B6 and B2. I take it as it seems to help keep my energy levels up and reduces the frequency of my migraines, but I haven't noticed that it makes a big difference to my tinnitus.
