I had hearing aids a few months ago, mainly because of high frequency loss but have found that they help to mask my tinnitus, not completely but because of hearing increase in the higher frequencies they make it less noticeable

Hearing aids do u alter them

They get set when you have them fitted (Mine were NHS) but you can alter the volume to suit yourself

I think hearing aids do mask tinnitus, mine do, until you take them out at night, so that just when you might really want peace you are left with the unmasked tinnitus. Grim.
