Yes, it happened to me. My tinitus started 4 years ago, ENT specialist said I must learn to live with it. About a year ago I started experiencing unsteadiness. Doc ordered MRI of brain which was normal. No treatment was suggested. Finally, 3 months ago I started noticing numbness in my hands and feet. Doc ordered Vitamin B12 test. It was dangerously low. He started injections. Now, there's some improvement in tinitus, unsteadiness and numbness. I was told it will take 6 months for recovery.

Almost everyone who is B12 deficient has experienced tinitus. Please ask your doc to check for it. Most probably he will refuse to do so. Maybe you can show him this.

Go back to doctor - it could be any number of things from vitamin deficiency to vestibular disorders. It won't necessarily be straight forward- but very important you get checked out!
