Tinnitus noise

I do hear constant noises in my ears, and they’ve been with me for 10.5 years!

I’ve currently got ‘like a television interference sound’. That’s with me all the time, however, it changes pitch every so often and to me it quit loud but it only lasts a few seconds.

I’m also very sensitive to noise, like for eg, keys rattling, someone stirring their tea/coffee 😂😂 Children screaming, heavy traffic and the list goes on and on and On.

Anybody else out there relate to what I’m experiencing ?

I do, and I expect there are many more out there. What you're describing is hyperacusis and it's where everyday noises are amplified to a point that makes you feel uncomfortable - and sometimes even physically unwell. There is a lovely café near me that I avoid at the moment. The clattering of the plates/cups/cutlery and general chatter has an echo/loudness that both irritates and distracts me. The frustrating thing is that everyone cannot hear what you're hearing or easily understand why you're so uncomfortable with a "noisy" situation. Of course, you can take and use ear plugs, but then you cannot hear the conversation...……….catch 22! Tinnitus is not always associated with age-related deafness, as some GPs and even ENT specialists might indicate when it affects those over age 60; sometimes it's quite the opposite!

Wow...............Thank you for you input.👏🏻 Oddly enough, I only heard of Hyperacusis yesterday and did wonder whether I had that as noisy environments do irritate me Beyond belief!

Thank you again

Hi there. I had that television static sound you describe for about 1 yr. Not the other sensitivity to noise like you describe. Mine was in my left ear only. I had to have my bottom left wisdom tooth removed about 3 months ago. The sound then disappeared for a few days, then returned louder and different then before. This went on for about 1 month. Then suddenly, about 10 days ago, all noises disappeared. Am wondering if the noise was all connected to the wisdom tooth and now that it's gone and healing done, it's gone for good!

Have your wisdom teeth checked! It's worth a shot! Good luck!
