Hi. I'm wondering if anyone can explain my strange tinnitus case.
I first noticed my tinnitus just over a year ago when I had an ear infection. Both the infection and the tinnitus were in the left ear, so I wasn't too stressed, figured they would both go at the same time. Then, I noticed the tinnitus was in my right ear too, a different sound, and my stress levels hit the roof. Fast forward a year and the tinnitus in my left ear is almost completely gone, but the right ear is really bad, actually worse than the left ear was for most of the time.
I'm going to see my GP about it, but I'm anticipating the usual dismissive response. I'm freaking out about whether this is serious - has anyone else had this happen?
Many thanks for reading!

I can only say what has happened to me. I got menieres disease 30 years ago first and worse was my right ear then the left kindly joined in. Now it is in both ears one us a tone higher than the other. I have got used to it good luck at the docs
Thank you for the reply it does seem to be that tinnitus can just change ears, or start in another ear, for no apparent reason. The doctor assured me of this. I'm glad you have got used to it.
Most likely ear barotrauma. Cause is clogged eustatian tube generally speaking. It's a difference in pressure from outside the ear than what's on the inside . I'd suggest google barotrauma and read. I had it and it finally went away with some research on techniques on curing it. Hope this helps !
