Hi, I am Gwynydd and I posted some five months ago. To recap I have had an MRI and A CT scan which revealed nothing abnormal. I am being checked for any heart related issues and now referred to the head and neck clinic. Due to my consultant not copying me on the CT scan result and my Doctor not doing her job with the requested referral to the Cardiac team, everything has been delayed by three months. In between I had a private consultation with the top local ENT consultant who redid the hearing tests and other tests and gave me a lot of time. He also found nothing of note to explain my symptoms but said further tests may reveal something. He did not think that hearing aids would help me as I manage most of the time and I also prefer peace and no loud noise. I need to mention that my rapid heart beat in my right ear only happens at night and has only rarely surfaced during the day. I can go 6 days with nothing and then alternate nights and sometimes two nights with nothing. Last year I went for the whole of September with nothing. It starts up with a feeling of a full ear and a fluttering and starts to slow down when about to stop missing beats and sounding though it is bumping over gravel. I also have regular UTIs and sometimes the anti-biotics improve my ear but I do get a lot of earache. My question is does anyone out there have these symptoms and what do they do. I play calm music at night to help me get to sleep and a gel earplug over the ear - not in the ear to block the sound then lie on a tempura pillow. It works for me. I also use Momentasone at night and suck Jakemans sweets to keep my nasal passages clear. I try to keep relaxed. As I mentioned in my last two posts/replies, I am 79 years old and a carer for a very dependent husband who has mobility issues and is on ongoing toxic cancer treatment.
