Hi, am new here, but not new to tinnitus, had the affliction for years and am quite deaf in the right ear, had a head scan back in the day but nothing was found and told probably some cell damage in the inner ear.
I have had an NHS hearing aid since 2012 but don't use it much if at all, can't seem to get on with it and the battery doesn't last long and faffing about, so yes hearing is difficult sometimes especially with a lot of background noise and picking out words..
I usually ignore my tinnitus, but it seems worse at the moment as have a wax blockage in the left ear as seen by the doctor, and have wax irrigation booked for 2nd October and am currently inserting olive oil drops from the chemist until removal, so at the moment I have a constant hearing dullness & hissing tinnitus..😒
Am thinking I'll have to use the drops a bit more regular to keep the wax soft..
I also get a pulsating heart beat tinnitus in my right ear, and when I out on a run get the thumping sound on footstrike, again I just try and ignore it all, but it's not always that easy is it, I'd welcome any tips that anyone finds beneficial and which may help, thanks..😊
