Hi all happy new year

Well I have now had my hearing aids for 3 days the first day I thought that they were not working, but when I got home I removed them and found that they were bunged up with wax (I have a big problem with ear wax) so after cleaning not that I found that very easy they are working again, and yes i can hear things i haven't heard for years but everything sounds very tinny although my audiologist said that my brain has to get used to the sounds again and after a time i should not notice it so much,as for the tinnitus i have not used the tinnitus generator as yet but the tinnitus is not quite as bad with the aids on but as soon as i remove them it's bad again and as i won't be using them when at work due to doing a very dusty job and i have to lie down on the floor a lot (audiologist recommended i not use at work) i will have to put up with the tinnitus but as soon as i get home and had a bath they will be on again.

My new hearing aids are Phonak Audeao Marvel M30R

As they are connected to my Samsung S8 i get funny looks when talking on the phone ,it looks like i am talking to myself as the phone is in my pocket.

I'm glad the HA are working for you. I had the same thing when I first wore mine. Running water and plastic wrapping sounded like shattering glass! Your audiologist is right, after time you'll adapt. HA don't solve T but they truly gave me some help in coping. Blessings!

I'm glad the hearing aids are working for you. I think adapting to them is a bit like wearing new glasses, or switching to contact lenses - it feels almost impossible at first, but then your brain catches up and all is well! I've been told that the brain needs to build new pathways when it gets hearing aids, so it can take a few weeks, but it gets there.

Warmest wishes

Thanks for the reply's

I found today my tinnitus is worse and I am hoping it is just a plip,I have days when it is worse and I am hoping that it is not the hearing aids.

I have worn them for three full days but today as I was at work I could not use them, but I have them in this evening and it hasn't helped the tinnitus .
