Ear wax

I have recently found that the hearing in both my ears was muffled. I started using olive oil as I thought it could be a build up of ear wax. Having used it for four days I now find that my hearing is limited. I have looked at reasons for blocked ears on the NHS website and one is earphones which I use on a daily basis. Is it unusual to lose ones hearing when using ear drops and should I continue to use the olive oil? Thanks.

Hello

Well it could well be ear wax it can be very difficult to dislodge if you have been putting the drops in for 4 days I suggest you see your GP who will have a look also using earphones can cause problems but first stop your GP

Thanks for the advice Romford5. I use earphones for about 3 or 4 hours a day so I have bought some headphones. I have an appointment with the health centre nurse on Monday. They would only see me if I had been putting eardrops in for at least 7 days. I was expecting at least a two week wait so I am happy with that.
