Blood pressure and T

A little while ago someone was asking about blood pressure medication and T. I said I would report back at some time so here I am.

When I got my T a year ago I was so floored I wouldn't take any medication of any kind including blood pressure medication.

It started in the middle of taking a lot of antibiotics and steroids to try and rid me of a chest infection!

I kept an eye on my blood pressure with a machine and actually it has been fine.

For the last 3 weeks or so my T has been horrendous, I just couldn't get it to 'the back of my head' as I call it. It has been so intrusive!

3 days ago I decided to check my blood pressure and it was through the roof! I kept an eye on it for a few days but it was still bad so I decided to start my blood pressure medication again as I knew it was too risky not to.

Well here is the point, I have taken my medication for two days and when I got up this morning my T was much easier and at a level I find easier to cope with.

I only take 5mg Amlodipine once a day, but This makes me wonder if allowing your blood pressure to get worse causes T to get worse as well.

Anyway, this has been my experience so far and I did say I would report back.

Hope this helps.

C

That's the trouble with food, it's too enjoyable 😊👍 Never mind, we all do very well to get on with life if you ask me 😁

I panicked when my t got worse and stopped taking all my medication including BP pills. I went to my GP and my blood pressure was 210/100. He really told me off and said I had to take my pills. At that point I was on one 1.25mg Ramapril per day. Now I'm on 2 Ramapril per day and amlopodine 10mg as well. I'm feeling better in myself, but the t is still the same 😠

I am also on amlodipine but 10mg daily which keeps my bp ok as I was 130/79 earlier this month. However, having a normal bp rate has not calmed my t in any way. In fact it has been getting worse. I have been losing weight in recent years and I’m down to 12st now from 16st several years ago. Dieting hasn’t helped my t noises calm either though I feel healthier. We are all different and t affects us daily no matter how we control our bp or body weight. Sighs!
