I’m trying to cut out salt as well. Had a BP reading of 210/100 despite being on medication. It’s coming down a bit, but my t is all over the place. GP said that when BP is back under control t should lessen. I see him again on Monday for another check. I hate taking any medication as I’m always afraid of what it will do to my t. My GP and hearing therapist have said that most medication is fine although t can be listed as a side effect for most even over the counter pills.

Today’s bad, but I hope tomorrow will be better.

Take care 🙂

Eating a lots salt over a short time will cause a short spike, as will eating a large quantity of oils and fats. Try eating 4 bags of crisps followed by a big piece if oily salmon. Those ears of yours will be screaming for a few hours 😱

I have tinnitus and being treated for high blood pressure which is under control now by meds. I’ve cut down on salt intake over the past 12 months or so and my tinnitus is no better today in fact it’s getting worse than it was 6 years ago when I first reported it to my gp.

Are you saying that your BP is stable at 120/80 (which is a "perfect" level) whether or not you consume salt? In which case, I would stop worrying about and continue to have salt - in moderation.

Blood pressure can be one cause of tinnitus, but it's not the only one, and sometimes there is no cause.
