January i started hearing a buzz noise vibration - a first and i think it might be tinitus - went through the smart meter scenario, uhf military signals syndrome etc etc . Here is my problem tomorrow i go to Reading to see a ENT person, but last week i went to Newbury Hospital and the Nurse prodded my ear with a pencil like object and yes it hurt with more pain then i could ever imagine for this past week. Now i am going to reading and my anxiety level is roof top sky high even .. both ears are out one due to the nurse so any thoughts would be most welcome. kind regards Dean btw i went to newbury hospital as i had part of an ear plug stuck in one ear with no pain and left in agony 6 days and now just feeling ok ish ..
Just arrived ..: January i started hearing a... - Tinnitus UK
Just arrived ..
Dean, I am looked after by the audiology dept at Royal Berks hospital in Reading, they are excellent, you'll be in very good hands. Good luck, Steve
You are hey Thanks Steve appreciated for taking the time, one less thing to worry about and thanks.
Hi Dean
It's important that you keep calm as this can exaggerate the tinnitus sound even more. You have to take this unpleasant journey one step at a time. Mention what happened at Newbury hospital before your ENT doctor physically examines you and I'm sure they will look after you. It will be very important for you to discover what exactly you are suffering with so you then know what you are dealing with.
Everybody on this forum knows what you are going through and sometimes its going to feel like you are alone, frightened and without hope. That's not the case though. We are all battling this condition in our own way and we all seek and gain solace from other forum members from their advice & support.
The BTA website is full of useful info on tinnitus and strategies to deal & cope with it. We all know how hard it is to manage this condition at times but it can be done.
Hope everything goes well at the hospital. No surrender.
Andy thanks for such an inspiring reply its nice to know one is not alone, and thanks for finding the time to reply much appreciated Andy.
Hi Dean ,
Welcome to the BTA community....
Im sure you will go on ok at the hospital.
Anxiety isn't a nice feeling and can ramp up your tinnitus so try stay calm and keep relaxing music on when you can.
Keep posting for support ....lots of love glynis
and Glynis thanks for your kind support and emotion also totally appreciated, if i have understood one thing about the life is that these are all journeys, this one too but glad i found this place a big plus after 2 months of non stop head noise and last weeks fiasco, appreciated with kindness and thanks with lots of love too.
Regardless of how your stress and impending anxiety are filling you with high levels of apprehension, you have to go. It may help if you write down a few bullet points of information that you wish to convey and work through each point calmly with the health professional you see, it will make your experience easier and allow you to give full description of potential cause etc.
good luck mate.
Thats what i did Brian, Reading ENT dept were just so amazing, and Steve on the first post said that too - its a slow journey but keeping notes is such a part of this - realised the high point that happens when finally someone actually listens to you it was that simple. A reminder to myself again of how simple the beautifull things in life can be, cliche but true, have part of my hearing back now so thanks to everyone and all for such kind words and support especially when needed, Now going to check the other new posts see if i can offer some support there too .. and thanks Brian for the support appreciated mate .
