Sorry you feel so low but I can't be much help on a technical level as I've only just found this site .. but I do empathise with you.

I told the doctor eight years ago pretty much the same thing you have just said .. I told her if I ever got a terminal illness I wouldn't have treatment.

Just remember that's why we are on here so we have the support from people who know and understand how we feel.

I am sure someone will answer you with some technical info to help you. xxx

I have also told everyone if I get terminal illness I dont want treatment.WHO would have thought the thyroid could cause such chaos x

Yes it is a shock when you realise how it effects everything .. but the more we learn the more we are empowered to ask questions instead of just sitting there and saying nothing :-) ... and taking someone with you to appointments if you can :-) so you have support and they can stand up for you and ask questions if you feel too tired that day. xx

sorry the Efra hasnt worked for you, At least you can see here that there are lots of people feeling preety much the same as you xxx

I am sorry, I cant say anything else apart from: I feel the same like you.. good luck with your treatment.xx

Um, have you got the T4 range please, as that looks a little low to me for someone on Levo!

No FT3 result I take it..!? :(

Hi first make sure you have tests for tSh, T4 and Free T3 , You could well be under treated,NDT does lower the TSH a lot and I have to ignore mine ( endo)so not a good guide. if you do not feel OK. Sometimes with NDT if FT3 still low, then you need a little extra T3 too, like me.If GP will not test, it is so important, worth paying for thyroid.uk.org.uk/tuk/te

I use Blue horizon , there or main site, quote TUK 10 for a discount ( £10. They are very well known , important for treatment and very good. Their Harley st. first checks them and they e mail with results and ranges if any thing glaringly wrong.they tell you. You also need a vit D test ( hormonal), Gp should do it ,otherwise City on the site, is the nHS test and the cheapest. If low you must have calcium tested for corrected calcium before taking any vit D, and repeat tests after 3 months.then if stable annuallyAlso ask the GP to check the iron/Ferritn level. If seeing an endo these and the other relevant tests are always done on first visit.

Best wishes,

Jackie

When do you feel more anxious? For me it's about 1 hour after taking my nighttime T3 - it's an odd feeling - just kind of grabs you. It can be exacerbated by worrying of course so I try reciting poems to take my mind of it - I can get through w Wordsworth, 'daffodils' about 50 times in a night! I should get back into my meditation practice. - that helped a lot xx

So funny! I recite the alphabet backwards, which is just difficult enough (for me) to hold my attention but just boring enough to help me drop off.

Hello Fion

have you looked into state of yoiur adrenals/cortisol levels, ferritin, Vit D, B12.

Apologies if you have done all this.

But if these are not optimal then anxiety will still linger.

Erfa will struggle to optimise in your cells etc etc.

Have you ever looked at this website, is very helpful.

stopthethyroidmadness.com/t...

If your adrenals are challeged, there are many supplements that can support it and help.

best

Anxiety is absolutely rotten. I used to have really terrible generalised anxiety - shaking, heart pounding, dry mouth etc - but it went away (I think my adrenals just conked out, it was as sudden as that) and now the only remaining trace is that I'm still a bit agoraphobic and I do have trouble leaving the house. I found keeping a close eye on caffeine really helpful (apologies if you've tried that already) and now I just have a trace of it in the morning.

I know there have been times since starting treatment when I felt stuck and like I would never feel better, but there are so many tweaks to this thing. There is bound to be one for you, even if it doesn't feel that way right now. x

That's really interesting. Can you explain a little more what you mean about anxiety vs symptoms? I think I know how that feels.

I've only ever had a handful of panic attacks, but they were completely physical (nausea, heart pounding, sweating) and I never felt 'panic' or like I would die or anything, my body just went bonkers for a period.

I have just joined this site ,I had undiagnosis Graves Disease for 3 years and after 2 and a half years on carbinazole was still hyper when meds were stoped ,I had a total thyroidectomy in 2007, and have been on thyroxine ever since ,I have never been on the same dose of meds for a year ,just had the dose altered up and down,Ifeel like you that if i had a terminal illness i would not have treatment, But reading the blogs on this site and knowing that i am not alone as given me hope.
