Does anyone else suffer with chronic skin problems since being diagnosed with an underactive thyroid
hi, my skin seems to be getting worse!
Ive gone through various problems from my eyebrows falling out, to looking like a hairy biker (im a girl). My skin is so sore and dry, nothing i try seems to make a difference. Im sat here right now with sudo creme smeared all over my eyebrow area cos the skin has cracked to the point of bleeding! The rest of my body is just as dry. Its awful cos suffering with these types of skin problems makes you look even older, im 34 and look 104....lol.
What type of problems are you having? suzie x
Hi, I am hypothyroid and have very dry skin particularly my hands, legs and feet. The skin on my hands often cracks around my knuckles. I am in the process of trying to get my dr to increase my thyroxine so hope that this will improve. Definitely a hypothyroid symptom tho. Best wishes Sue
It was one of the first symptoms to appear. Skin always needs moisturising. Orange callouses and yellow skin. Cracking, sore and at it's worse (so far) I get outbreaks of fungal infections and hive like rashes, very itchy too. Wrinkles on my face quite bad for my age too!

I had some of the issues you all mention and now take a supplement of Sea Buckthorn. I take capsules but it comes in oil, soap and even tea form. It's worth doing some reading on it, as I felt the change was very quick and my skin is much better. Initially i used soap and capsules but now I just use the capsules. It also helped with my dry eyes.
I have dandruff legs. It's disgusting. I'm like a snake. It only goes away on 125mcg every day but that puts my bloods out so I'm not allowed to take it. I have moisturiser in every bag. My hands are constantly dry, I can't touch fleece or silk. I have scaly calloused hands with sore patches on, they split all the time too. My hair falls out a lot as well. It gets everywhere. And it's so dry.
