Do you have any other symptoms apart from the exhaustion? The losing have a stone is throwing me a bit because HYPOthryoid sufferers usually find it very difficult to stay the same weight let alone lose half a stone and, as you said, eating like a horse. Its usually HYPERthyroid sufferers that usually lose weight.

Could you please give us a little bit more info.

HI there, thanks for the interest in my question. I am forty years old and have a year and a half old daughter. I have always had a problem with my weight, been very slim all my life despite efforts to gain weight. I have a nervous disposition and have sufffered from severe bouts of depression all my life. I am utterly shattered all the time, I sweat a great deal, so much so i use my husband's antiperspirant as womens ones just aren't up to much. I feel the cold dreadfully and even in summer take a jumper with me. I don't sleep well and generally am restless, My skin is very itchy, mostly since having my daughter and being pregnant, it has never gone away, but doesn't seem to have a rash or anything, just very itchy upper arms. I have hyperthyriodism in my close family, so I was sure that i was hyper, but my test results came back, as I say, with a reading of TSH 2.5 and T4 at 14. The GP says they are satisfactory, but I was just wondering what the norms were so googled it and it kept coming up saying Hypothyroid. SO, i thought I would ask you all as you actually suffer from these things rather than having a GP pat me on the head and say there, there! Thanks so much, Lori

If this were my problem I would be going back and asking for another test as this result does not seem to confirm the symptoms and could be a mistake. (I had 2 vitamin D tests done on the same day from different labs and got totally different results !) Some of those symptoms you mention could be a B12 deficiency so you could try this questionaire

Also you might consider if you could be celiac, check out the symptoms and ask for a test if you think it a possibility.

Good luck with your research and I hope you will soon find the answers.
