We have had a number of people here at least having some investigation into possibly being hypopituitary. I assume that is the direction you meant?

Usually starts with checking the other pituitary hormones such as prolactin, follicle stimulating hormone - but precise tests varies.

Being hypopituitary is a classic reason for TSH looking fine (or low!) and yet remaining low in thyroid hormones.

thanks I'm having an MRI scan on Thursday so should i get blood tests for the hormones you mentioned?

I would hope that the doctor investigating would do some or all of them without you needing to ask! But who can tell?

Certainly make a note and bring it up for discussion if nothing offered. But the MRI might actually provide an initial answer on its own.

I was diagnosed with Hashimotos, twenty years ago and pituitary tumor two years ago, now removed and recovering :-) i had to self diagnose as they missed it, my tumor caused high levels of cortisol, which i did research on and asked to be tested for cushings disease and it was confirmed , and they then did scan to confirm tumor, i read up prolactin test is a indicator to malfunctioning pituitary gland. And looking back over many thorough blood tests my serum prolactin was very high for 3 years before, so that would be good test to get.Sorry for the long message! Hope you get it sorted, any more questions dont hesitate to contact me,

God bless
