So this year I turn forty, which meant that at new year I made a cliched resolution to try to get fit and lose weight. Well I told myself I wanted to get my health sorted this year which includes weight and thyroidy issues. I want to be fit and forty not fat and forty. Of course I made the same promise before I turned thirty and did sort myself out a bit, but in the ten years since of getting a husband and having two kids things went a bit haywire again thyroid included.
So far I have managed to find a GP at my practice that will at least listen to my thyroid ramblings and try to do something with my concerns instead of patronisingly brushing them off whilst proclaiming my tsh is fine. I also joined Slimming World Online and have so far lost 12 lbs in six weeks. I am rather proud of that and you know what? The weight loss has actually been pretty easy, which is a shock because normally it is an utter nightmare for us thyroidy folk. I have counted my syns and eaten what I liked, even went on a works night out where I did indulge a bit but so far so good. I can't wait to meet the fit forty year old I hope to become by November. Still early days though so will keep you all updated with how my quest is going. Thanks for reading.
