Are there any good thyroid doctors in the Clacton/Colchester (Essex) area who test further than TSH levels?

Have a look in the hosp section and read people's comments on a certain doctor at Colchester General.

Well, I have just got back from seeing my GP (not my usual one) and I think it went well. She has referred me (at my request) to endo at Colchester General Hospital and wants fasting blood tests by next week, etc. The blood tests she wants are for: full blood count, renal profile, liver profile (fasting), fasting glucose, thyroid function, LH & FSH.

She admitted that she is no expert but thinks I am currently hypothyroid but that the endocrinologist will be able to do further tests when I see him. I said that I was looking for a holistic approach to a number of different symptoms which I told her about and now that I've grown more aware of their connection to the thyroid, I will not be fobbed off any longer.

I just hope the appt. doesn't take too long but I am fortunate to have private health cover through my job, which should hopefully get a faster result. x
