How can you tell if u have hashis what has to be high/low on your blood tests or is it just another word for hypothyroidism.

You have to have antibodies in your blood and this is an explanation.

Hashimotos is a type of autoimmune thyroid disease which results in the production of too little thyroid hormone. It is the most common form of hypothyroidism / underactive thyroid and is diagnosed by having a positive thyroid antibody test. More info here:

I must add that in Hashimotos there are periods when you are hyper ( beginning of illness), however as the process of thyroid degradation is progressing the thyroid becomes underactive.

You need to check your TPO and ideally Tg A, also T4 and T3 ( which is a struggle with NHS
