I know this is a very funny question but does anyone suffer with static, over the last few weeks everytime I take my jumper or my coat off I get static and everything sticks to me and I find it really annoying.

Anybody else have this problem or is it just me.

Yes! I have this terribly and have done since I started to have hypo symptoms. I get the worst electric shocks from all sorts of things. Shop doors are a total no-no - I have to tap my nails on the door before I can touch it. Lovely isn't it. All added to my feeling of going completely insane before I was diagnosed! I tried to research a connection but never came up wirh much. You have my sympathies!

Yep, me too. Blackpool illuminations when I take my jumper off!

One time I upset the cat - went to stoke her and zap! She's wary now!

And I touch the car door very gingerly in the summer - perhaps I should get those dangly things from the back bumper?

Meanwhile - different shoes seem to have an effect - rubber soled ones tend to be worse (not earthed?) - I dunno, I think I must be some sort of battery! now I've upped my VitD & Solar powered, it seems to less often but who knows!

This question has reminded me that I used to have this problem, too. I'd completely forgotten! Yes, getting electric shocks from door handles - especially the car and the fridge! - and from the cats. But I only got the hair standing on end when snow was due. I could always tell when it was going to snow...

But I have no idea when it stopped. Or why. Wouldn't surprise me at all if there were a connection with thyroid. There is with most things!

Yes, i used to get this in the winter plus itchy skin, I found it went when I changed to 100% cotton clothing. As long as I wear cotton next to my skin I'm OK. Never connected it with thyroid though.

Yes I do, just thought it was me. Very static and always giving my children electric shocks when I kiss them!

So glad to find this old post - yes, me too, the cats and dogs are sick of my static.

My mum has suffered terrible with static, she has always worn cotton and avoids anything that increases static (has hypothyroidism).

I was recently diagnosed with hypo and finally issued meds, since suffering symptoms around 2 years ago I have started experiencing issues with static particularly now it's winter only thing that's changed is my condition so I'm currently attributing it to this.
