Hubby came in saying - you know that stuff you're always on about, it's on the telly - have a look - ok I saw a bit, but from the viewers comments I expect nothing. What do you guys think?

There are toxins in the plastic bottles that your water comes in so there is no real advantage to drinking bottled water. Chlorine gas dissipates after a few minutes so if you let your water stand for a few minutes thats solved that problem. With you on the fluoride though, there is no proof that it does any good at all to anyone but if the Health Authority wants it in the water then the water companies HAVE to comply!!
Good points about bottled water. Luckily our water is not fluoridated so I'm not worried about drinking ours too much Tap water also does contain some good things too, depending on where it comes from, like calcium and magnesium. I don't even filter it unless I'm boiling it because we have some of the hardest water in the country so it doesn't do the kettle much good. If it was any harder it would be chewable
I think there are so many pros and cons to the different kinds or water. I drink tap water but I'm not sure I would if it was fluoridated. That is one thing that does worry me.
I am wondering how many people reading the words "virtually pure" in your post would realise that it means the water contains detectable quantities of the following:
Uranium
Barium
Bromide
Calcium
Chloride
Magnesium
Nitrate
Potassium
Sodium
Sulfate
Rod
I filter all my water. It saves all the mixed messages that we get from other sources about the pros and cons of either tap or bottled water.
I turned the programme off after 10 minutes. A load of rubbish and scar mongering.
Actually a lot of it was true. I go to a Bannatynes Gym and I am pretty obsessive with my routine using hand gel all the time so I don't get other peoples nasties on my hands. The exercises that only take 3mins (30 secs of really hard hard aerobic stuff with a 1-2 min rest in between x 5 rotations) have been proved to be the very best you can do but to do it properly is extremely difficult as you can see if you look on you tube, it's also something you have to build up to very very slowly. People do drink too much water you see it all the time at the gym people doing five minutes of exercise guzzling water, I think they think it makes them look as though they've actually done something! On the othert hand dehydration can be a problem if you are doing sustained exercise without taking enough fluid and the thing about the Sports Drinks is really true, they are just water filled with sugar, no one needs them, research has been done and proved it so who are the idiots buying them?
Well I thought it was an entertaining attempt to inform those poor confused youngsters without experience, to know how life existed before faddy diets, diet/sports drinks and the gym, i.e common sense before crazy adverts and peer pressure. As an 'old' person at 52 I count myself darn lucky I already know things like.....
Organic stuff contains some bugs - yep no insecticides
Bread that last more than a week is preserved and still fermenting- just plain weird
The Gym is a holy place where folks now gather, various reasons- ignore pain at your peril
Water is good, essential - but without the added nasties please
Massage in the wrong hands hurts (I have proof)
Full fat milk is skimmed of goodness - didn't know they added paint tho!
No breakfast - breaking the fast is a clue to starting metabolism (but cereal fattens pigs)
Supplements and laxatives - do we trust everything in the 'health food' shops?
Alcohol - we were designed to expect a bit of this (in moderation)
Diet drinks with aspartame toxin - tricky to avoid in non-diet drinks too - just avoid fizzy stuff
Exercise more = expect to eat more!
Butter, like milk is good - marg and substitutes are non-food, animals won't touch it
Diet pills - yuk - and size zero kills, infertility
Low-fat meals - what do they put in instead - talc & sugar!
Good Fats are neccessary - and transport healthy vitamins too
Fun runs - OK if you're fit and healthy first
5 a day - fine but some overdo it - although veg 30x less nutrients than 100 years ago
skipping a few, including believing the papers and a cotton wool diet? c'mon
no wonder we're getting poorly!
