I have been without a computer for almost two weeks - which has been quite awful. Cannot believe that I missed it so much. It came back on Friday and I have been trying to catch up ! Tomorrow we will be up at 4am to catch the early flight to Athens and onwards to Barcelona. After three nights there we will be going into SW France to say in a friends' apartment..... busy busy ! So looking forward to an adventure !
Last Tuesday we were burgled and the house turned upside down - so I now have the tidiest cupboards in Crete ! Do wish they had knocked the door and asked for some money instead of smashing through a double-glazed french window. It wasn't good but at least they did not harm my dog and the house is fine....they just took sterling sent to us by a family member in the UK for Christmas. Our TV is over 20 years old so that still remained !!....well it works so why change it ? Maybe a hint to the robbers that there was not too much to steal !
So am just explaining my absence and of course the continued absence as I won't be around until early in January. I want to wish everyone here a Happy and Peaceful Christmas and a Healthy New Year. Looking forward to catching up with you all in 2013.....and learning new things.....

What an adventure!!! I hope the next installment of the adventure is more enjoyable and positive
A Merry Christmas and the Happiest and Healthiest of New Years to you and yours!
Much Love,
Sue xxx
Aw Marz so sorry to hear that - it must be horrid (not the right word) our nasty dog is trained to lick them to death - grr! Hope you have a lovely time & glad you didn't leave your tickets around (I would have been tempted to pinch them too!)
Years ago I had my credit card 'cloned' & the day before my daughter's wedding the bank cancelled it, (so hubby had to pay instead!) someone (in Ireland after I topped up my mobile there) flew to Kuala lumpa, bought suits & watches etc. £2 grand later but luckily insured (at Lloyds' expense) btw they paid £50 in first to ensure it was an active account. Which is why I'm a little wary of tinternet purchases too.
Hope you have a lovely Xmas J
Sorry about the break-in. Have a lovely adventurous Christmas and a happy and healthy new year!!! xx
So sorry to hear you were burgled Marz! Little did they know that there was such a kind and generous soul living there - idiots!
Lol about your tv - I'm a 'if it still works...' kinda girl too!
I really hope that you have an amazimg time over the holidays!
Glad to see you have such a philosophical attitude. I hope I could, too, in those circumstances. I doubt anyone would break into ours as it's obviously not worth it -but you never know. I don't do Christmas but I still wish you a lovely adventure!
What bad luck Marz, so its not only in England that the robbers come thick and fast at Christmas time, they need their hands (and possibly other things) chopping off. Hope you handled the stress o.k. as its a horrible feeling isn't it when you know someone has been into your private space and took from you.
I to will be without a computer as from this Friday as my xmas hols start from work then and I dont come back until the 14th January so, like you, will have to do an awful lot of catching up with the site when I do get back.
Have a wonderful christmas Marz and the best of wishes for 2013.
This recession is taking its toll on everyone. When things are this bad unfortunately bad things happen - as you say you would have preferred them to knock on the door and ask. You sound very positive minded, which is good. Enjoy your travels and have a fab Christmas and New Year. Very Best Wishes, Kath x
P.S Im glad im not the only one not doing Christmas - too expensive! But non the less I wish all on this website a very Merry Christmas and New Year. Thanks to all for the great advice. Best wishes, Kath x
