I'll start with the basics like do you take your levo well away from food and drink (except water) and all suppliments that you may be taking. Thyroid meds and the contraceptive pill really dont mix well either as the pill has estrogen in it.

At what time of day do you take your levo and have you tried changing timings to see if things improve.

Do you have any other remaining symptoms other that the tiredness? and do you have a copy of your latest test results so that you can post on here?

Levo should be taken at least one hr before or two hrs after food for maximum absorbtion, so maybe thats something for you to look into. The docs will till you half an hr before is fine but the longer the gap the better. You might want to try taking your levo last thing at night, just before you turn off your light as some experts say that it absorbs better when you are asleep. Taking it of a night helps some people almost straight away while others find that it doesn't suit them at all. People on here have reported headaches when they first switch from morning to night but after about a week these stop. Here's a link to a poll that was done on this site, I have linked it because of the comments, which will take a bit of reading but its well worth it.

Dizzyness is another symptom of being hypo so maybe you have an absorbtion problem. If your Ferritin, VitD or B12 are low then your levo wont be converting to the T3 that your body desperately needs. Have you had any of these tested. My dizzyness only stopped when my doc prescribed me T3.

Have a look at the link and make up your own mind if and when you want to change the timings of your meds - it may seem a simple thing to do but it has helped an awful lot of people.

Would try Moggie's advice re Ferritin Vit D and B12, and if it doesn't work bear in mind T4 might not be right for you.

I can sleep hours on T4 and yet now on T3 am awake mostly and even back to work -not at my usual pace or level but back !

It seems to be as Moggie says to do with converting T4 to T3 - like Moggie dizziness goes when I'm on T3.

Good Luck

Hi Lovely but hard having twins. My husband is an identical twin but old!!Make sure you have vit D a hormone and FT3 tested. It could be that you need T3 prescribed , it depends on blood tests. lot of us need FT3 to be near the top of range. All my symptoms were originally due to very low FT3 but then it was always tested and treated, even though no T3 but NDT.Also, just a thought , diabetes can cause excess tiredness and can come on slowly so do consider it.I hope you soon feel up to having twins!
