Before starting combination treatment, please do share your thyroid blood test results with us (as per recommendations in your initial post 2 weeks ago).
What is your current dose of Levothyroxine? How much Liothyronine have you been prescribed/ purchased?
It is important to adjust thyroid medication slowly. If FT4 is high in the range, it is often advised to reduce Levothyroxine dosage prior to introducing a small amount of Liothyronine (ie 5mcg initially).
It is very important to retest thyroid levels 6-8 weeks after any changes to medication.
As recommended previously, key vitamins should also be checked- folate, ferritin, B12 and vitamin D. Having these optimal supports thyroid health.
I think it’s all a matter of trial and error, some timings work for some people and other timings work for other people. For example, I have T4 and T3 in the same pill so I’m taking them together, once in the morning and then before lunch. Some people do well when taking the full dose once. You need to see which works well for you. But like the advice you’ve already received, it’s important to know your vitamin and mineral levels before starting because they likely need improving. I used to be low on iron and vitamin B.
I take my T4 + 1st dose of T3 together @6am+then turn over +go back to sleep! My next dose I take between 3+4pm. It is a bit of trial+error, dependant on if you’ve other meds and/or supplements to take but T3 has definitely been a boost to my life!,
