central hypothyroidism

I am wondering if I have central hypothyroidism as my TSH does not rise in correlation with my T4 dropping. Plus I have been diagnosed with recently with PMDD and I have read that this can be caused by a non secreting pituitary adenoma.

I also had an ATCH test years ago and was told it was normal, but my cortisol was borderline low.

Would anyone please be able to tell me how they got diagnosed with central hypothyroidism, or a list of endo’s who could help? I am very limited on funds, but I did wonder if it was worth saving up to have a private mri done on my head.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I live in Brighton area, South east of England.

Helpful if you say roughly where in U.K. you are

Though some endocrinologist will do consultations on zoom

Ideally face to face initially is best if possible

You can name a doctor when asking for feedback on the forum, but replies to Susie25 about endocrinologists need to be via private message (as per forum guidelines)

A list of thyroid -friendly endos (NHS and private) can be requested by contacting:

thyroiduk.org/contact-us/ge...

With any recommendation that you get, it is advisable to complete further research yourself before making a decision.

It is a good idea to have thyroid blood tests (TSH, FT4 and FT3) alongside key vitamins (ferritin, folate, B12 and vit D) prior to your appointment. This allows you to discuss the results with the endo at the first meeting.

Please do start a new post Susie25 with further questions (not involving the naming of endos) so members can offer you further support and advice 🦋
