When To Stop Levothyroxine?

Thank You In Advance For The Wonderful Members.I'm going to my Dr and have an afternoon appointment. That is the only time I can have an appointment and he draws the labs.

My question is when to stop my Levothyroxine before my Wednesday afternoon appointment about 3pm?

I stopped my B-Complex and the extra Biotin that I take.

Thank you so much .

Do you normally take your levothyroxine early morning or bedtime?

aim for last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test Which brand

And split your T3 so last dose is 8-12 hours before test

Thank you so much SD. I dose with 150mcg T4 and 5mcg T3 bed time. I tried several ways and this works best for me.

So day before test, suggest you take Levo earlier than normal at 3pm

And split your T3 as 2.5mcg on morning of test and 2.5mcg after test

I would take Monday dose as per normal

But bring Tuesday evening dose earlier to 3pm

Test Wednesday afternoon at 3pm

And take Wednesday evening dose as per normal

Hi there , I was actually told to take my levothyroxine as normal by my endocrinologist as she said my bloods needed to show what my levels where while taking levothyroxine

Helvella Thank You So Much for going the Extra mile. I'm a bit confused. Is 24 hours prior the way to go or dosing regular timing and do labs as usual? Thank you so much in advance.

In the first twelve hours after taking levothyroxine, any result will be somewhere on a "hill". Between twelve and twenty four hours, it might dip slightly lower - but will be more or less on the flat!

I don't believe there is any endocrinologist who can make allowance for where you are on the hill. The make of tablet, your absorption, etc., and the precise time to blood draw are all too sensitive and pretty much unknown.

Therefore between 12 and 24 is my choice.

Wow! That is so well explained. Honestly Hevella being a TT patient and doing labs as usually always gave me highish picks and was lowered with my Thyroid meds. It never worked for me that way. So I'm hoping that by dosing 24 hours prior will give me somewhat lower FT4 so that my dose is not lowered.Thank you so much.
