Where is good to order saliva cortisol please?

I usually use Regenerus but just had an email from them that from next week you can only order through a health practitioner (which I don't need and will only increase the overall cost!!)

Any recommendations please?

Thanks

GreenTealSeal_,

Suggest you have a look at this link! :-)

thyroiduk.org/testing/priva...

I hope that suits you?

Hey thank you!

This is for Regenerus labs tho and they won’t allow the patient to order directly anymore :( I just got an email from them saying this will change next week and you have to order tests via a healthcare practitioner.

I see medichecks do one but heard their ranges are a bit wonky!

Please can you investigate and do whatever is needed - update the Thyroid UK page, explain to GreenTealSeal_ and so on?

Sorry for causing my confusion but the email just worried me cos I really don’t want/need an appointment to discuss results…I’d rather just ask here!

Here is the email I received today:

I'll contact them today. They have not informed us of this.

helvella Just an update on this, Regenerus have confirmed that if I wish to complete a test kit I have already purchased I will have to pay extra in order to recieve results via a 'healthcare practitioner' So now i've wasted money buying a test kit I cannot use, really not impressed with them!

Just feels like another barricade/hoop to jump through for patients to get access to needed testing.

Here's what they said:

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your feedback. We completely understand your frustration, and I want to assure you that this decision was not made lightly.

Many of the tests we provide are complex and were not originally designed for direct public use. The vast majority of our users are healthcare professionals who order on behalf of their patients, and we have received significant concerns from both these communities and regulatory bodies regarding the importance of ensuring patients receive the best possible care when interpreting their results.

We truly appreciate that this may be inconvenient, but our priority is to ensure you receive the support and guidance needed to make the most of your test results. To help with this, we strongly recommend working with one of our trusted practitioners, who can guide you through the process. You can explore our list of experts here: Find a Practitioner.

If you have already purchased a test you can still send your samples in to us, please bear in mind if you purchased it some time ago the price may have increased by the time you do the test which means we will need to invoice you the additional cost.

I'm so sorry about this. Please do contact them again for a refund. I have sent them an email but they have not responded yet.

GreenTealSeal, can you send me an email to enquiries@thyroiduk.org I have some news.

Hello! Just emailed you!

I have since had another email saying I can use the test (with no acknowledgement or clarity on if I would have to pay extra for the 'health practitioner' like the other email said)

It's all a bit annoying really so actually just wondering if they can refund me if they send them back the test and I'll start a fresh some where else!

They must have guessed who you are! :-)

Also, at least one link on the Thyroid UK Regenerus page doesn't work

Thyroid Basic (Finger prick test)

This thyroid hormone test measures TSH, fT4, fT3, thyroid peroxidase antibody (TPO) and thyroglobulin antibody (TgAb).

Thanks for letting me know. I'll take a look although by the look of it, we may need to take down the whole page and stop partnering with them. :-(

We will now be taking the page down until my meeting with them next week to organise how we can order for people, similar to how we now do with Genova Diagnostics

Blue horizon is probably not great. I am doing now but I think they do not have ranges the same as others.

Tiggerme recommended one. I will look.

I found the link.

I used CNSLab with the discount from thyroid uk website for a combination of cost, tests done and their response when I called to ask about the their quoted test turnaround time. They were very quick sending the kit out (order before 2 and they send the kit the same day). I ordered Friday am, got the kit Saturday, did my tests Sunday, put it in the post very first thing Monday. They quote a max result processing time but in practice they batch up test runs - I was lucky and mine came back the day after I sent it in. There’s a sample report on their web site and although I was initially bit surprised with my results, on reflection I think they’re spot on and made sense especially in parallel with nhs serum cortisol /dhea-s tests and the Randox hormone tests done at the same time. The result (in parallel with some HU stories, feedback and other research) also helped maybe explain my reaction to Levo last year.

I think the CNS test was mentioned on the forum recently where the company intends to withdraw it , in , I think , March 2025. Possibly April 2025. Suggest you email them regarding this.

Ok, that's a shame...looks like it's becoming increasingly hard to order a saliva cortisol test as a patient. Only place it's still easily available is Medichecks it looks like!

I remembered I wrote it on my calendar. Calendar says CNS will discontinue test in April, so you still have time to do it. TiggerMe did their test and recommends it.

I kinda wanted somewhere I can return to so that I can do repeats to compare :(

Regenerus are just an intermediary as it is a DoctorsData Lab Test so shipped out to America

How about mindovermetal.co.uk/adrenal...

or going direct? doctorsdata.com/Comprehensi...

It's annoying about CNS as they do it in house... perhaps lynmynott could try and talk them into keeping the test?

GreenTealSeal_ profile image
GreenTealSeal_ in reply toTiggerMe

Just feels a bit like another barrier is being added for patients to get the testing they need :(

Yep, everyone wants to make money out of us under the guise they are protecting us... Mind Over Metal are still reasonable at £96

GreenTealSeal_ profile image
GreenTealSeal_ in reply toTiggerMe

Makes me so mad…protecting us from…reading and understanding our own test results(?)

Guarantee any health practitioners I’d have to see for my results would be less clued up than this forum and be completely unable to answer my questions!

Thank you will check them out!!
