My doctor didn’t prescribe my usual levothyroxine brand (Eltroxin). Instead I have had Teva. I have been waking with bad headaches, could it be the Teva?
Thank you very much!

It could, but obviously that doesn't mean it is the cause
Teva contains mannitol, which defintely doesn't agree with some people. Not sure about headaches, but quite a few reports of stomach issues.
Thank you! Perhaps the timing is coincidental. I’ll definitely be going back to Eltroxin and will be asking for it on Monday. The headaches are awful!
Thank you for your reply.
You can ask your DR to specify Eltroxin on your prescription.
Some time ago I felt really ill on the same dose of Levothyroxine...... what I hadn't considered was the effect different brands may be having. With help and advice from this wonderful forum I started putting two and two together.
I know I can only tolerate Eltroxin, and this has been specified on my prescription. The pharmacy tried several times to give me different brands despite this..... I gave them straight back and asked for Eltroxin as per my prescription.
As RedApple says, your headaches may have another cause..... maybe try and get Eltroxin written on your prescription, and see if the headaches clear?
Thank you very much! I usually have Eltroxin but for some reason I didn’t get it this time. I thought I’d just try it as I was running out and didn’t want to be without.
I have had eltroxin for many years and never had anything else. It was always the one I did best with.
I’ll go back to the doctor on Monday and ask for eltroxin again. I still have Reva left but will stop taking it.
If my headaches are still there then I know it wasn’t the medication.
Thank you for your reply.
