Your link is to a paper titled 'Excess of severe autoimmune diseases in women with premature ovarian insufficiency: a population-based study' If that's the one you mean to link to, then it works
Thanks for posting. Very interesting as I’ve often wondered the significance. I was dx with Hashimotos 3 years after loosing my ovaries at 36.
I had supposed early menopause at 36, the same age as my mum, but they would appear if I used a vibrator or had sex, a full on period, then they would disappear again, I had my ovaries out in my 50’s I’m 62 now and still have a full period if I use my vibrator, I’m having this checked, my pituitary is dysfunctional and I know this as well as my thyroid disease hypothyroidism is connected( sex hormones), I’ve only ever had menopause symptoms night sweats and severe bone pain in my shins June 2024 for about a week because I wasn’t taking my hrt properly, when I got my levels up I was ok. For years after my pregnancies I had milk appear in my nipple ducts, and sharpe breast pain, even now at 62 this can happen, agin this could be because of my pituitary issues, I’ve just recently had my breast check and everything’s normal. I’ve had other women who’ve told me they have been diagnosed with pcos and their periods have stopped but when they have sex they can reappear. I was born with a heart murmur and jaundice so that makes sense of my diagnosis of hypothyroidism in later years, also when I started my periods at 14 I always had blood clots and severe shooting pains. I was told I had pcos as well and put on metformin but my sixth sense told me not to take it, I went to see a locum dr who said I didn’t have it but had pituitary dysfunction. Hope this helps someone going through what I’ve been through.
