Help required πŸ™ πŸ™‚ - I'm going for a new blood test this week after you all mentioned that levothyroxine should not be taken for 24hrs before test, which I greatly appreciate. No doubt I will be told that my results are normal yet again! I've preemptively sent to my local surgery information showing my normal is anything but.

Anyway, coming to yourselves for input and wisdom - ok help - with regards to any questions you think I should ask my GP next Monday?

Many thanks

Lorna-Jane

Looking at your last post your TSH was 4? If you are looking for an increase in Levothyroxene, I would get familiar with the NICE guidance. You can also hammer home your symptoms and how you used to feel better on a higher dose etc. Ask for a 'trial increase' and repeat bloods in 6 weeks if they are not keen. Have you had all vitamins tested? Are they testing T3/T4?

If failing all that you still can't get a dose increase (assuming your TSH is over 2)you need change GP.

Just testing TSH is totally inadequate

Hope you have booked early appointment, ideally before 9am and only drink water between waking and test and last dose Levo 24 hours before test

Request they test TSH, Ft4, Ft3, vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin
