I have a bit of an issue I’d like to get some help with, I had a follow up with endo yesterday who said my levels haven’t come done on 5mg daily of carbimazole so she has upped it to 40mg daily. The thing is I’m meant to be going abroad on Monday and I’m not sure what to do I’m also on warfarin and the 5mg had an affect on my inr levels so worried that 40mg will definitely impact this. Has anyone had this before and any advice would help? Thanks

Suggest you contact your blood thinner clinic and run it past them, or your GP, this sounds like specialised knowledge.
What exactly did she mean by 'my levels haven’t come down'? Did she give you the actual numbers? Before you can do anything - or even understand the situation - you need to know exactly what was tested and exactly what the results were. I wouldn't trust anyone who wants to make such a massive increase in one go.
So my free T4 level was 50 pmol/L when I was put on 5mg in July my appointment yesterday my T4 was 45 pmol/L so the endo wanted to increase to 40mg, to be fair I did think 5mg to start was low from reading up on carbimazole
OK, but I'm sure such a large increase is not in your best interests.
I came to say the same thing. I would double check it was 40mg the doctor meant and if that’s going to affect your INR before increasing. I wouldn’t increase personally before going on holiday either. Seems a bit backwards though, your normally started on a higher dose and then decreased. Not the other way around 😅
I suggest you might find it worth reading my blog:
