Missed Dose

I am on holiday at the moment. I am here for 8 days but have only 7 doses of levo :(

I normally take my levo before I go to bed. I have enough for Thursday night, but not Friday night. I will be home late Saturday evening. I can't work out how to get back on track. Is it foolish to take them as soon as I get home and then the next dose at bedtime? I know if I miss the dose it will make me ill.

First time in 25 odd years I have made this mistake, I'm so cross with myself!

Any advice gratefully received..

Most can miss a dose or two without major issue, I wouldn't double dose on return... if you are near a chemist you could pop in and request one

Just dose is fairly easy to catch up with so dont fret too much.

I'd probably split one days dose into 4 and add it to the next 4 days.

Take your normal dose at bedtime on Saturday and continue as before.

T4 is the storage thyroid hormone so missing one dose is unlikely to make you feel ill.

Absolutely do not double dose as you describe....that will have a negative affect

Relax enjoy your holiday, you'll be fine.

You will not be ill. Levo is T4 it stays in your blood for a month.

If you were on T3 only medication you would feel tired

If you were on NDT you'd probably not notice

But Levo, you won't notice at all one day.

Don't worry

Could you divide Thursday night's dose and take half that evening and half Friday evening if you are sensitive to any changes.

I’ve missed one day’s dose before now (of Levo) with absolutely no ill effects.

I wouldn’t be inclined to double up on return or fiddle with dosing.

Thanks everyone.

I think I've been overthinking this. It looks like I can cope without one day's dose! Hubby has been ill too so more stressed than usual.

What a holiday! I am calmer now..

Just miss the dose....it's for one night nothings going to happen. I've missed mine for 5days before and nothing happened.

it's very individual though bearcubs , if i missed 5 days levo i would feel and speak like zombie, and not be very safe to drive . If i miss one day i can tell ,nothing earth shattering , but enough to mean i'm 'not quite firing on all cylinders' and likely to make clumsy mistakes.

Me too, I struggle with 1 day missing, I’d be inclined to split Thursdays so I have ‘something’ to take.

carnation if you pass a UK pharmacy and show them your packet they may well give you one tablet. One of the local pharmacies is forever giving me snipped up strips that they’ve cut into for someone.
