I have had thyroid diagnosed 14 years ago. My mother had Hypothyroidism and my younger brother developed Graves disease although now Hypothyroidism. I have been on 100 dose all that time. Reading items on this site has been so informative - and explains such a lot. My GP practices never ever mention doing anything different before a test. The same with Vitamin deficiencies. I only recently found out when I was sent to a Rheumatologist (not sure why but believe because I have some osteoarthritis and they dodnt know what to do with my extra pain and symptoms- due to FMS also) that my Vit D was dangerously low and my Vit A very low. I believe a lot of practices take Hypothyroidism for granted and don't even know about the side effects, or if they do, don't care. I was meant to be monitored re the extremely high initial dose of Vit D and the Doctors haven't even bothered.
Finding this site has been such an eye opener and education. I don't feel so alone or desperate and now I know why I am experiencing some of these extra symptoms also.
Thank you.

Yes, the collective knowledge of forum members exceeds most other sources of thyroid information....they almost certainly helped save my life a number of years ago.
You are not alone here and there is always someone around to offer support or advice.
Many medics seem to assume " this little white pill" is all we need to feel well and for many it is, but those of us who do not respond to basic treatment can have one of several complicated thyroid conditions that most medics have little/no experience off.
