Hello all, After years of being borderline normal Hypothyroid, a new doctor decided I was hypothyroid and so I started on 25mcg Levothyroxine earlier this year. Please see below some results from over the years and the most recent ones.TSH range 0.35 to 4.94. FT4 range 8 to 20.

06/11/2012. TSH 1.06. FT4 10.5

23/10/2017. TSH 0.96. FT4 9.6

24/02/2021. TSH 1.25. FT4 9.6

03/01/2024. TSH 1.10. FT4 8.3

March 2024 started on 25mcg levo Teva

14/05/2024. TSH 0.65. FT4 9.5

Dosage increased to 50mcg levo Teva

02/07/2024. TSH 0.38. FT4 10.6. T3. 4.3

Today I saw a different doctor and she said that my results are now good. The only problem is that I've been feeling terrible. Sleeping a lot, continuous low mood and no motivation. My vitamin levels are good as I supplement daily. Also I stopped gluten and dairy over 10 years ago. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Your GP is only looking at your TSH. Also the NHS hasn't tested FT3. To really see whats happening we need to see TSH, FT4 & FT3.

Although your TSH looks fairly reasonable your FT4 is only at 22% of its range. It needs to be probably above 70% and more but GPs arent really taught this.

Even though you are supplementing you should still test your vitamin levels as things can change.

Which supplements do you take and what is the dose?

What time of day are you taking blood tests? Best time of day is 9am or earlier when TSH is highest.

Recommended blood test protocol: Test at 9am (or as close as possible), fasting, last levo dose 24hrs before the blood draw & no biotin containing supplements for 3-7 days (Biotin can interfere with thyroid blood results as it is used in the testing process).

Testing like this gives consistency in your results and will show stable blood levels of hormone and highest TSH which varies throughout the day. Taking Levo/T3 just prior to blood draw can show a falsely elevated result and your GP/Endo might change your dose incorrectly as a result.

Thank you for your reply and the information. I take Nature's Bounty complete B complex, 1000mg vit C, 20mg Zinc Picolinate, 500mg Lysine, 1 Krill oil capsule and 400iu vit D3. My blood test was taken at 10am and before taking any medication, food or supplements.

Just looking at the B complex you take, its got a low dose of B12 in the inactive form of cyanocobalmine. Its quite likely you may have a low B12 level and I'd recommend switching to a higher dose, better quality (containing the active methyl form of vitamins that most peoples bodies can use) B complex.

B complex suggestions: Slightly cheaper options with inactive B6:

Contains B6 as P5P an active form:

400iu of Vit D is a very low dose. Most people need a minimum of 3,000iu.

Vitamin D should be around 100 - 150. Buy one that includes vit K2 to help it go to your bones. Some are available in oil or you can take it with an oily meal for better absorption. Many members like the ‘Better You’ range of mouth sprays that contain both bit D & K2. Use this calculator to work out how much to take to get your level to 100-150.grassrootshealth.net/projec...

Recommend you get your vitamin levels as current supplements are low dose.
