Participants for a Hyperthyroidism Podcast Needed!

Zhongqi MA is an MA Audio Storytelling for Radio and Podcast student at University College London (UCL). He is looking for people with hyperthyroidism to participate in the recording of his graduate podcast. This is a totally individual educational project which does not have any commercial elements or teams behind Zhongqi. It also passed the investigation of UCL Ethics Committee.

The podcast series entitled ‘Adaptation’, focuses on stories and experiences of people with chronic illnesses, such as diabetes, thyroid problem, and gout. He wants to explore what they think about this disease, how they actively recover and face the future and how the health condition changes their jobs, relationships, habits, and even the outlook on the world.

You need to be over the age of 18.

There will only be one participant chosen and, once chosen, there will be a face to face interview in the city where the participant is living, as far as possible, according to his/her schedule. With permission, you will be recorded to share your experiences.

All your personal information and privacy will be kept completely confidential, and all data processing and collection will be carried out in accordance with the GDPR principles, therefore:

This research will not involve the collection of prohibited types of information such as your genetic biometrics and health data, and the podcast is limited to exploring the lives and life experiences of the interviewees.

The collection of information follows the principle of data minimisation, that is, only sufficient, relevant and limited to the necessary data related to the processing purpose will be collected in a transparent, open and legal manner, and will not be transferred to any third country or international organization.

No information about children will be collected.

At any time, all data subjects have the right to withdraw their consent to the interview, know the specific storage period of the data, listen to the podcast draft, and to correct and delete any given information.
