Hi I’ve been on PTU for 11 days not feeling any better just wondered how long it takes to kick in? Says 6-8 weeks online 😔 Also is it worth pushing for an ultra sound? I’ve had the uptake test. Thanks

Hey there again :

Well the PTU is just a different Anti Thyroid drug to Carbimazole which you were on but experienced the side effects of hives -

So it reads as though you are not on a high enough dose of the Propylthiouracil -

When is your next endo appointment - or maybe ask your doctor who probably can get advice faster direct from the hospital:

Only you can know that - and if your symptoms are getting worse you obviously need a dose adjustment before June 12th :

Phone your doctor or try the endo's secretary and explain your symptoms seem to be getting worse :
