Carbimazole update

so I hobbled back to pharmacy on my pulled ligament and they told me they reconciled the my meds from an emergency supply back in December and I could only have 1 tablet and I needed to go back to my gp or wait for next the prescription. I explained that an emergency supply was required as the dosage had changed and they’d gotten the wrong ones in and all meds dispensed have been used appropriately - even if I cut pills I use up what I have. Therefore I’ve had less than required not more. She told me I was wrong so I hobbled back to gp and told them and they said the pharmacy cannot do that so to go back and tell them to ring the gp directly (pharmacy don’t answer their phone hence asking them to ring gp) and immediately. So I hobbled back to the pharmacy and told them to ring the gp which I did. The gp subsequently ripped the pharmacist a new one and they issued the 30 tablets and apologised, I said thank you and left. The gp said I can collect my meds from the next village instead as they don’t get any complaints from that one and yes I checked they were the right ones etc 😂

It makes such a huge difference to have a knowledgeable and supportive GP practice and pharmacist. I would certainly travel further to secure better service, but really feel for you doing this with a ligament injury. Sending you very best wishes 🦋

Thank you - I honestly wish I was making up my medical journey here but I'm really not .... you know when you just couldn't write some of this stuff?? Anyway, I won't be going back to the 2 star review pharmacist (Boots) in my village in future. Although I appreciate my consultant doesn't give a r@ts ass about all of this I made sure I emailed his secretary to ensure it's also noted with him.... he'll accuse me of not complying or something I'm pretty sure so thought it best to to let him know ... I think what Dr's and Consultant fail to realise is that if we could simply pop a pill and all these issues would disappear most of us would be fighting each other to get to it - but it just doesn't work like that ....🥴anyway .... until the next saga 😆
