The last contact from endo was that I should half my dose to 5mg daily and none of my symptoms were medication related but I still feel so Ill whenever I take the stuff So I take it three times a week at a push … weight continues to rise at an alarming rate, misery, cold, hair fallout, yellowing of palms and soles of feet, tired the list is so long I get bored typing it but the saga gets funnier the pharmacy where I live is renowned for its poor service so I make sure prescriptions are requested at least ten days before required.
Picked it up on Friday, was busy but opened the bag on Saturday pm and noticed the box stated 100 tablets of 5mg Carbimazole- seemed odd as I only ever receive 30 tablets at a time … open bottle and there is one single pill in it ONE?! Not even sure it’s the correct med?! So yet again I have to walk down to the pharmacy (current leg injury) to have it out with them … and this time I’ll do it loudly!!! How clinical settings get away with such abysmal practise I’ll never know 🤷♀️ Coming from NHS worker 😡 not the first screw up with my meds and listening to others reviews it’s common place at that pharmacy 😡😡

Can’t remember when bits were done and saving for full test but I’ve paid a lot out recently so can’t afford much more atm - I do take vit D and B12 daily along with all recommended and a couple more supplements on thyroid uk - I think my results should have gone up as haven’t been tested since reduced to 5mg three times a week - also waiting for medichecks LFT results as my sister was concerned about this - I could scream 😡 grrrrr
Some pharmacies are terrible. Dispensing 1 pill is very poor.
I had such a horrendous visit last year at mine, I switched & it wasn’t what happened to me, it was what I witnessed to others while I waited.
I always get 28 carbimazole pills. This is as I have 10mg & 5mg. I may have possible gotten higher quantity then I took a single pill. They have come loose in jars. Sometimes saying “mixed brand” but not specifying which & only including 1 leaflet. Fortunately (or unfortunately) Ive been on carbimazole for so long I can recognise most brands & can look up current leaflets.
Blister pack are better, you know from the packaging exactly what they are at least!
My current pharmacy makes the effort to cut the sharp edges off when counting part pack & always includes patient leaflet or QR code to them.
bless ya purple nails - yes witnesses them messing up so many prescriptions and such like - I sent a askmygp request that they reorder the meds and stop using boots where I live as it’s unacceptable for this kind of error 😞
Next test is Friday … expecting levels to have jumped up a lot due to my non compliance but - I don’t like saying it out loud - graves and it’s consequences left me feeling better than this medication - I’ve honestly sat with a pros and cons list of what might happen ultimately if I ditch the meds …. Anyway more stress later today when arguing with the pharmacy I guess 😡
Thank you - yeah it clearly stated 30 pills to be issued but the pharmacist decided to reconcile my medication from a previous emergency supply (they couldn't provide me with the meds that were requested due to an error on dosage or not having enough or something like that but gave me a handful to get me through the Christmas period - this was in December 23). They stated therefore I'd had enough pills to only require one tablet - I said that because of dosage changes etc and not needing a prescription every month they technically owed me more. GP phoned the pharmacist and said they simply cannot deny the medication that is requested through a prescription and to issue the correct amount immediately which they did ... and apologised - I put on update on here .... bonkers isn't it? lol
