I’ve been on thyroxine for 50 years and for last 30 years reasonable stable on 1.25 a day. I do have a medichecks test every year. I don’t have high antibodies . A few years ago I was waking in the night chocking and mri showed my thyroid gland had all but disappeared, with a small part of what was left attached to my windpipe and causing pressure when I ay on my back. I now get tingling in hands and feet and cramp in feet and tightness in my calf muscles and researching am wondering if it’s connected to hypoparathyroid glands which I believe are attached to the thyroid. If they are attached where would they go if thyroid no longer exists ? Is this worth contacting my gp and asking for a calcium test ?

Low B12 is increasingly common as we get older

And particularly for anyone on levothyroxine

What vitamin supplements are you taking

What were your last Medichecks vitamin results

Medichecks March 24

Tsh 0.25 (1-5) I know it suppressed but it has been for 50 years

T4 22 (11 to 21) yes high but usually sorts itself and I am not prepared to yo yo my meds as that upsets me more.

T3 4.8 (3 to 6.8) like it when this is higher

B12 was 760 but I take 1000 daily

Vit d was 50……..I’ve taken 4000 with k, for a year now and it doesn’t seem to move up at all 🤷‍♀️

Don't have any expertise on this but calcium deficiency is serious and a calcium blood test plus PTH is really simple and cheap so it's worth asking your GP to check it out as well as looking at your symptoms.

request GP test vitamin D, calcium and parathyroid levels together

This test has to be done at large phlebotomy department as parathyroid test needs to be processed immediately
