Brand change in oral solution

Morning and hope everyone has had a lovely Easter . I have just received my prescription and it is a different brand to that which I’ve had since the end of December. Some posts have said to be careful on switching brands . Initially I was taking Teva. The new brand is Mercury Pharmaceuticals. Please could anyone tell me if these are identical and not cause any issues? I’ve noticed for the first time that they both have glycerol and E219 in , not sure why, and does this cause any issues? Thank you!

I take Mercury Pharma 50mcg oral levothyroxine. I use to always receive Wockhardt 50mcg oral but they stopped producing it or sending it to the uk from Ireland post Brexit. I did feel very good with that brand. I was very disappointed to have to change to Mercury Pharma. I do feel it’s not as good as Wockhardt still a year later. Not sure why exactly. I’ve had to just go with it. I did find I struggled a bit initially with them change but I’m stable now. It took about a month to stabilise I think. I’ve not tried Teva due to all the bad press on Teva tablets.

They ALL contain glycerol (all the ones currently potentially available). My UK medicines document lists all ingredients of all UK thyroid hormone medicines. And includes links to things like the Patient Information Leaflets.

helvella's medicines documents (UK and Rest of the World) can be found here:

helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines

helvella has created, and tries to maintain, documents containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and, in less detail, many others around the world. There is now a specific world desiccated thyroid document.

I highly recommend viewing on a computer screen, or a decent sized tablet, rather than a phone. Even I find it less than satisfactory trying to view them on my phone.

helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines - UK

The UK document contains up-to-date versions of the Summary Matrixes for levothyroxine tablets, oral solutions and also liothyronine available in the UK. Includes descriptions of tablet markings which allow identification. Latest updates include all declared ingredients for all UK products and links to Patient Information Leaflets, etc.

helvella - World Desiccated Thyroid

Contains details of all known desiccated thyroid products.

helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines - RotW

Contains details of all levothyroxine, liothyronine and combination products - excluding desiccated thyroid products. Details available vary by country and manufacturer.

The link below takes you to a blog page which has direct links to the documents from Dropbox and QR codes to make it easy to access from phones. You will have to scroll down or up to find the link to the document you want.
