Hi. I've decided to get a private test done from Blue Horizon to get some more information on my underactive thyroid. I'm unsure whether to go to Superdrug to have my bloods taken for me - or simply order the fingerprick test. Do you think that the fingerprick test is accurate enough, please?

Full blood test or fingerprick test?
The finger print tests are just as accurate. Some people prefer a draw from a phlebotomist however, as they may find it difficult to obtain a sample via lancets to the finger. If you do the home draw, it’s worth watching the videos on how to be successful (eg exercising arms etc). It does get easier with time (and is the cheaper option). Once, ive had to phone the supplier & ask for more lancets when sent a batch which didn’t seem sharp enough.
Hi there, I've tried the finger prick tests a couple of times, once successfully, once unsuccessfully. I followed all the instructions, but I just don't seem to be a good bleeder! My fingers are usually very pale, so I guess not good circulation. I now go direct to getting the blood drawn by a professional. I think they're both as accurate as each other, so down to personal preference.
Depends how close you live to Superdrug that does testing (or other private clinics)
You want to do test early morning, ideally 9am latest and only drink water between waking and test
If on levothyroxine, last dose 24 hours before test
Thanks all
