Hi I seem to have low acid as have done the at home.burb test, does anyone else have it or know how to cope with it at nightime. I already sleep with a triangular pillow. The weight doesn't help which also doesn't seem to shift. I make sure I don't eat later than 7pm, can't eat earlier due to work and cooking etc. Thanks x

Low acid
Hi there, have you tried taking betaine hydrochloride tablets with your main meal? Some people take a spoonful of acv. Increasing stomach acid will help the sphincter at the top of your stomach to close more tightly, so less reflux. Caffeine and alcohol both relax the sphincter so avoid them. Betaine hydrochloride will also help speed up digestion, so food leaves your stomach faster, again, less reflux. Other things to try: reducing fat in meals which makes food stay in the stomach longer; eating smaller main meals with snacks between, so there is less pressure in your stomach pushing up on the sphincter; eliminating foods that cause gas or make your stomach gurgle excessively. Basically, reduce the pressure on your les (lower esophageal sphincter) and eat foods which are quicker to digest and move out of your stomach. Hope this helps, I know how awful it is.
As advised by Forestgarden, betaine HCl is a good strategy with or without ACV and guidance on the procedure is given below. Re fats etc, that also makes sense to reduce the discomfort but fats are an important part of nutrition so maybe best to see a qualified Nutritional Therapist for all - I can provide links, if you ask.
