I guess there are a few possible explanations. Sensitivity to the brand of washing powder/fabric conditioner you use. An allergy or intolerance to something you’re eating or drinking.
Skin conditions are more common when you’re low in nutrients (for hypothyroid folk it can be a sign you’re undermedicated for your hypothyroidism).
I'm in the same state. I had a similar reaction 4 years ago and put it down to Teva 25 levo. I've been on Eltroxin since. I am taking prescribed anti-histamines to quell the itching. I believe it is the medication. Perhaps a build up of intolerance? I am also on alendronic acid and D3 now but nothing else has changed since the previous episode. I'm not coeliac.
I have very sensitive skin just humidity and my own hair like today sets it off, tops of my arms face driving me mad …we have changed washing machine liquid and it’s not helping I think (need to look again for something) … If you’ve eliminated some things like products eg washing powder etc and personal hygiene products or animal dander /house dust mites etc.. it could be something you’re eating or additives in medicine but you’d expect to have the rash all time if nothing has changed and comes and goes could even be stress.
My coeliac disease caused Dermatitis herpetiformis but it never went away this condition is caused by gluten, coeliac U.K. will have information on this … I also had nutritional deficiencies and neurological problems later on due to deficiencies.
There’s various allergies it can be, even sweat have you considered shingles it isn’t as common to get repeatedly but you definitely can get more than once …tree pollen is about now, I have catkins on trees and gets my throat eyes… but I’m ok with grass and flowers. Even hormonal flares and exacerbate skin.
Thank you for your reply coeliacmum1.Seems gluten can cause havoc with alot of our diets.
Dermatitis herpetiformis I'm going to look into this aswell. I do suffer will hay-fever nightmare from March onwards. My son suffers awful from allergies.. I must get him tested. Constant post nasil drip. Allergies can really be debilitating xxx
~I once could eat small amount of Feta - now break out in large read itchy rash on abdomen with minuscule amount - allergy level/s more noticeable now despite best efforts with many safety precautions in place. I don't eat out.
