Hi just a quick question. I am one of the fortunates that had an endo willing to prescribe T3. My first prescription was issued by the hospital pharmacy and my second by my local pharmacy… they are two different brands (I haven’t started taking either yet for reasons not related ) I queried this with the endo and he told me I was lucky to get it and should be grateful, he’s a charming chap although I take his point …. I’m well aware of the potential effects of switching brands of levo (so much so I’ve stuck with my Spanish brand which I have sent over) and I’m wondering if to assume the same applies??

You may be able to see how your Spanish brand compares.
I think it's the excipients in liothyronine, rather than in levothyroxine, that Jacarilla is referring to.

I think that just about sums it up!
Many are having their T3 prescriptions withdrawn and many have to buy their own supply in order to function.
Having had two prescriptions already you haven't yet started taking the T3. Most patients would jump at the chance to have and start T3.... not store it and lay it aside for whatever reason.
I sincerely apologise if this sounds sound harsh... so to explain, I'm assuming you are not aware of the serious problems hundreds of patients are coping with due to widespread refusals, by medics, to prescribe T3.
In extremis this is a matter of life and death.
I hope you find the treatment that you have been offered helps you.
What dose are you getting
Which two brands

You are just going to have to start one and see.Yes you can have issues with brands and if you start one and feel awful then try the other brand.
This happened to me. Me Endo recommended Morningside as a lot of his patients did well on it. I didn't think to look as script and presumed that's what he's written. Sadly hospital pharmacy gave me Mercury pharma which was the worst brand of t4 that I ever took and had reactios. Sadly I felt awful on this and was ready to give up and try liquid thyroxine again.
Luckily I was given Morningside by my chemist for next script and I feel great on these. I now have written on my scripts "Morningside only brand due to severe reactions"
