Good Morning, we recently moved to another county and have been referred into central Endo/Diabetes service (Aintree Hospitals).
Currently still with Lancashire service but l current locum Endo is appalling and only seems to measure against TSH levels and continues to try to reduce based on that which is making me ill.
Previous endo with the same trust was fantastic so realising it isn’t merely a postcode lottery but also luck in being assigned the right person for the job in the team.
I have an option to attend other more local services in either Ormskirk or Southport Hospitals although opted for Aintree as it is bigger and hoped for more choice.
Have been waiting for an appointment since Oct 23 up to now and wondering if I should request referral to the other hospitals or stick with the more central and bigger Aintree site.
Obviously, I don’t expect anyone to name specific Drs although interested to hear of others experience of these three hospitals please and if anyone does have any recommendations for specialists in any of those teams would really appreciate it if you could send me a pm.
Thank you in advance, I am desperate to get away from current endo who is trying to stop my T3 which has been keeping me well for 2 years.

Thank you, had forgot about the list and will take a look and see if anyone on their from my area. Have contacted someone previously but he worked with my NHS endo and couldn’t go against his advice unfortunately. Fortunately I am not in the NHS system in this county so will be able to be impartial. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
Here’s link for how to request Thyroid U.K.list of private Doctors emailed to you, but within the email a link to download list of recommended thyroid specialist endocrinologists who will prescribe T3
Perhaps choose an endocrinologist to see privately initially and who also does NHS consultations
Thank you, I forgot about the list although was also hoping to get some opinions from people who have used the service. Will take a look now, thanks again
If there’s anyone on the list you think you might want to see, you can write a new post asking members for any feedback back on Dr XXXX by private message
I have the list thank you and can see there are options privately and will definately go down this route. Thank you for your help, (again). After 35 years service of working in the NHS it grates me to go private but needs must as the government drives.
