how to titrate up with T3

Hi, I have recently ( two weeks ago) started taking T3 from Roseway Labs. (excellent service by the way) The pharmacist said to start on 2.5mcg per day and work up to 5mcg per day, she wants me to book another consultation in six months. I would like advice on how best to titrate up to 5mcg so that i will have an optimum level when I do the blood test before the consultation.

Add 2nd 2.5mcg mid afternoon a week or so after starting on 2.5mcg

Retest in 6-8 weeks

Day before test take 2nd dose 8-12 hours before blood test

Thanks SlowDragon, I take 100/75mcg Levo on alternate days, together with my T3, I take them last thing at night, sorry, I should have given this info earlier. Do I still take extra 2nd dose of T3 mid afternoon?

Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

T3 ….day before test split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day, with last dose approximately 8-12 hours before test

If you normally take levothyroxine at bedtime/in night ...adjust timings as follows prior to blood test

If testing Monday morning, delay Saturday evening dose levothyroxine until Sunday morning. Delay Sunday evening dose levothyroxine until after blood test on Monday morning. Take Monday evening dose levothyroxine as per normal
