I have a under active thyroid since 2019 , for the last 2 yrs I’ve been on NDT 90 mg per day , feeling much better , but had to keep adjusting my dosage.

In August 2023 I was diagnosed with non Hodgkin lymphoma stage4 , 6 months of chemo , and on the 15 th jan was told that I am now clear . Decided to do a thyroid check now that my body is clear of all the different drugs I was on . To my surprise these blood results are the best they have ever been , can someone possibly give me their opinion please . Don’t know how long my body as been affected by my cancer , but with it being stage 4 I’m presuming for quite a while,

Would really appreciate peoples opinions

Kind regards

Can you tell us when you last toook your NDT & how much before this test?

Vitamin D should be around 100 - 150. Buy one that includes vit K2 to help it go to your bones. Some are available in oil or you can take it with an oily meal for better absorption. Many members like the ‘Better You’ range of mouth sprays that contain both bit D & K2. Use this calculator to work out how much to take to get your level to 100-150.grassrootshealth.net/projec...

Both your folate & B12 are on the low side. Suggest you start a good methy/active type B complex.

Slightly cheaper options with inactive B6:

Contains B6 as P5P an active form:

For thyroid hormone to work well we need OPTIMAL vitamin levels.

my last NDT was the night before my test and was 30 mg

I do need to up my vitamins a little due to not eating well through chemo , but my TPO has always been really high ever since I was diagnosed, and my last test in April 2023 it was still high and now having gone through chemo, it’s the first time it’s been in range albeit only just in range .ever since I was diagnosed very strange

Lower vitmin levels will mean more symptoms and thyroid hormones not working well.

You could probably drop 1/4 grain NDT but may need to add some Levo depending on how you feel once your vitamin levels are more optimal.

Where we sit in ranges for thyroid hormones are influenced by the form we take, but also what suits. Don’t worry about TSH. Most important thing is how you feel. If you make any adjustments do it for that and no other reason. Doctors fall into the trap of treating the lab work - not us. It’s important we work towards our health.

Good advice from Jaydee1507 on vitamins essential parts of our personal jigsaw.

Hello Rufusjill

Your thyroid results look very similar to mine - and I 've been taking 1+1/2 grains NDT for 5/6 years -

I take just 1 dose at around 2/3 am and my yearly private blood tests after around a 10-12 hour fasting window I have a T3 reading between 90/110 % through its range with a T4 reading coming in between 25/30 % through its range.

I also test my vitamins and minerals yearly and know I need my ferritin at around 100 - folate around 20 - active B12 75 ++ ( serum B12 500 ++ ) and vitamin D up at around 100.

Your ferritin looks very high - but can be caused by inflammation - though the CRP ( inflammation marker ) is within range :

I don't know enough to write of what consequences you may still be dealing with from your recent illness.
